Fmoc-L-alanine pentafluorophenyl ester binds to the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase and blocks the production of tetrahydrofolate, which is essential for DNA synthesis. This drug also inhibits human cells by binding to DNA gyrase in the bacterial cell wall.END>
