• Description: Fmoc-S-acetamidomethyl-L-cysteine is a peptide analog that has been shown to inhibit the growth of HIV in human prostate cells. It binds to the du-145 cell receptor and inhibits the proteolytic activity of HIV, which may be due to its ability to form an amide bond or disulfide bond with the Cys residue (Cys-X). Fmoc-S-acetamidomethyl-L-cysteine also inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells by binding to human serum albumin.
