Fmoc-L-phenylalaninol is a peptide that inhibits the growth of bacteria by disrupting the bacterial membrane. It is synthesized on a solid support using a bifunctional linker and an efficient method to produce conjugates with antimicrobial peptides and congener. The molecular structure of this compound has been elucidated using NMR spectroscopy, as well as X-ray crystallography. Fmoc-L-phenylalaninol has also shown activity against Gram-positive bacteria including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
