Fmoc-O-methyl-L-tyrosine is a synthetic peptide of the hepg2 cell. It is an impurity in the synthesis of amides, and has been shown to have cellular antioxidant properties. The linker used in the synthesis is an amide bond. Fmoc-O-methyl-L-tyrosine is synthesized by a stepwise, solid phase process that uses fmoc-gly as a temporary protective group for the amino acids serine and tyrosine. The final product can be cleaved from the resin with trifluoroacetic acid, yielding high concentrations of pure Fmoc-O-methyl-L-tyrosine.
