Description

Fmoc-L-aspartic acid alpha-benzyl ester is a phosphatase inhibitor that belongs to the class of glycoprotein inhibitors. It has been shown to be an efficient inhibitor of alkaline phosphatase and acceptor-dependent enzymes. Fmoc-L-aspartic acid alpha-benzyl ester is synthesized by chemoenzymatic methods, which are more efficient than chemical synthesis. This compound also shows high selectivity for alkaline phosphatases as compared with other protein kinases and phosphodiesterases. The heptasaccharide sequence has been optimized for enzymatic activity, making this inhibitor a suitable candidate for use in strategies to treat inflammatory diseases.
