Fmoc-L-b-homoproline is a synthetic amino acid with an unknown function. It is expressed in mammalian cells and has been shown to be an active enzyme. Fmoc-L-b-homoproline stimulates the proteolytic activity of serine proteases, such as thrombin, and may be involved in the biochemical process of linking proteins together or breaking them apart. This product also conjugates to other compounds, including radioactive isotopes, drugs, and toxins, which makes it useful for tumour therapy as well as radiation therapy. Fmoc-L-b-homoproline is synthesized using solid phase synthesis on a monoethyl resin.
