- 5-Fluoroindoline
- 5-Fluoro-2,3-dihydro-indole
5-Fluoro-2,3-dihydro-(1H)-indole is a peptidomimetic compound that has shown anti-cancer activity in vitro and in vivo. It inhibits cancer cell growth by blocking the synthesis of DNA and RNA and inhibiting protein expression. The 5-fluoro-2,3-dihydro-(1H)-indole molecule is metabolized through several metabolic pathways, including amide hydrolysis, aniline hydroxylation, or N-oxidation to form 5-(5′-hydroxy)fluorouracil. This drug also induces phase II detoxification enzymes that protect cells against carcinogens.
