Description

(S)-3((S)-5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-5-hydroxypentanoyl)-4-phenyloxazolidin-2-one is an enzyme inhibitor that interrupts the biosynthesis of glucose by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme glucose dehydrogenase. This drug has been shown to be efficacious against a number of strains, including E. coli and S. typhimurium, but not other bacteria such as escherichia or mycobacteria. (S)-3((S)-5-(4-Fluorophenyl)-5-hydroxypentanoyl)-4-phenyloxazolidin-2-one is used in medicines to treat cardiovascular diseases. It has been shown to inhibit the production of dinucleotide phosphate, which is essential for the synthesis of nucleic acids and energy production in cells. The reaction system is circularly closed by this molecule.br>br>
