Description

2-Formylselenophene is a compound that belongs to the class of antihistamines. It is a potent and selective antagonist of the at1 receptor, which is found in peripheral tissues. The compound has been shown to be effective in reducing inflammation and fever, as well as relieving allergic symptoms. 2-Formylselenophene has been synthesized using a variety of methods, including the Vilsmeier formylation reaction between methyl selenoxide and acetic anhydride. It is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform or acetone, but insoluble in water. The compound can be stored at room temperature for up to six months without decomposing.
