Fmoc-Met-OPfp is a pentafluorophenyl ester of the amino acid Met. It is used in peptide synthesis and can be immobilized on microchips for diagnostic purposes. Fmoc-Met-OPfp is activated with trifluoroacetic anhydride to form the active ester, which reacts with free amino groups in the peptide to form amide bonds. The high yield of this reaction makes it ideal for translation and antibody production in proteomics and other applications.
