Fmoc-D-isoGln-OH is a molecule that is synthesized from the amino acid L-isoglutamine. It has been used in the synthesis of taxol, which is an anti-cancer drug. Synthetic chemistry has also been used to modify Fmoc-D-isoGln-OH with a linker, modifications, and conjugates for use in clinical trials. The clinical trial investigated the effects of Fmoc-D-isoGln-OH on cancer cells. This molecule is also being studied for its ability to activate antigen and TNFα, which are proteins involved in cancer cell growth.
