Fmoc-Met-Wang resin is a solid phase synthetic resin that is used for the synthesis of peptides, oligonucleotides, and other biomolecules. The Fmoc group can be removed with a reaction involving a mixture of an amine (e.g., DMAP) and a carboxylic acid (e.g., DIC). This reaction results in the formation of an amino-terminal carbonyl group and a carboxylate group at the other end of the chain. Fmoc-Met-Wang resin has been shown to have anti-diabetic activities in animal studies by inhibiting pancreatic lipase activity and reducing blood glucose levels. It also inhibits chemokine activity by preventing chemokines from binding to their receptors on cells, thereby reducing inflammation and pain associated with diabetes.
