(R)-2-Flurbiprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that binds to the dna of the cyclooxygenase enzyme, thereby inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. It has been shown to be effective in treating Alzheimer's disease and skin cancer, as well as other inflammatory conditions. It also has antioxidative properties and has been found to have structural similarity with malonic acid. It may also inhibit the activity of secretases involved in Alzheimer's disease. (R)-2-Flurbiprofen does not affect liver function, which is important for patients with hepatic impairment.
