- 2-Fluoro thioanisole
- 1-Fluoro-2-(Methylsulfanyl)Benzene
2-Fluorothioanisole is a bifurcating molecule that has two different vibrational frequencies. The first frequency was observed at 1040 cm-1, which is the result of the dihedral and resonances between the bifurcating sulfoxides. The second frequency was observed at 1170 cm-1, which is the result of a urea derivative. 2-Fluorothioanisole has been shown to have antagonistic activities against sulfide oxidation and may be used in sustainable chemistry applications such as pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. 2-Fluorothioanisole can also be used as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent due to its ability to inhibit reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and JNK pathways.
