Description

8-Fluorociprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is used to diagnose bacterial infections of the body fluid. It has been shown to bind to and inhibit the activity of gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, by binding to DNA gyrase. 8-Fluorociprofloxacin has been shown to be effective in treating infections caused by gram-negative organisms, including E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. 8-Fluorociprofloxacin binds to the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase, preventing it from unwinding double stranded DNA at a specific site, which inhibits production of proteins vital for cell division. This drug also inhibits synthesis of specific proteins that are involved in growth factor activation and inflammatory responses. The drug can be detected using immunochemical assays on blood or body fluids with a micron level sensitivity and specificity. This antibiotic may cause necrosis if
