Description :
3-Fluoro-4-iodoquinoline is a quinoline derivative that has been synthesized by the cross-coupling reaction of pyridine with 3-fluoro-4-iodobenzoyl chloride. The synthesis was completed using a convergent synthetic approach, in which the starting material was prepared from 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and phenyl hydrazine. This heterocyclic compound is a dimer with two aromatic rings that are connected by one carbon atom. The two rings are different in terms of their functional groups and reactivity. 3-Fluoro-4-iodoquinoline exhibits antiinflammatory activity due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
