Description

1-Fluoroacetyl-3-phenylurea is an insecticide that is a methylcarbamate. It is used to control the larvae of some species of insects such as the weevil, and has been shown to be effective against parthenogenetic strains of mosquitoes. 1-Fluoroacetyl-3-phenylurea acts by interfering with the replication of DNA in the insect's cells, which prevents it from growing or reproducing. It also has a low level of phytotoxicity and does not damage plants that are not susceptible to it. 1-Fluoroacetyl-3-phenylurea has been shown to be effective against weevils, and experiments have revealed that this drug can inhibit oviposition in female insects.
