Informations sur le produit
Alpha-(fluoromethyl)tryptophan is a serotonin precursor that can be synthesized in the laboratory. It is often used to study the biosynthesis of serotonin, and has been shown to decrease dopamine levels in the rat brain. Alpha-(fluoromethyl)tryptophan has also been used as a chemotherapeutic agent to treat cancer, and is effective against a number of solid tumors, including breast, ovarian, prostate and colon cancers. In addition to its role in serotonin synthesis, alpha-(fluoromethyl)tryptophan has also been shown to inhibit l-amino acid decarboxylase activity by alkylating this enzyme at the alpha carbon atom.
