2-Fluoro-6-iodophenylboronic acid is a trivalent boronate that can be used to synthesize x-ray crystallography. It has been shown to react with hypochlorite and chlorination, leading to the formation of 2-fluoro-5,5'-difluoroacetophenone. This compound is also a five membered ring with two fluorine atoms. 2-Fluoro-6-iodophenylboronic acid reacts with trifluoroacetic anhydride in the presence of triethylamine to form difluorotriphenylborane. Structural studies have shown that this compound forms a five membered ring with two fluorine atoms.
