4-Fluoro-2-formylphenylboronic acid is an antifungal agent. It is a precursor to the drug 2-formylphenylboronic acid, which is used as an antifungal agent. 4-Fluoro-2-formylphenylboronic acid has been shown to be effective against dermatophytes and Candida albicans in vitro. This compound has also been found to exhibit activity against other types of fungi that are resistant to other drugs. 4-Fluoro-2-formylphenylboronic acid can be synthesized from piperazine and 2,4,6-trichlorobenzene in a two step process with a high yield.
