Informations sur le produit
The antibiotic, [(Fluoromethoxy)imino]propanedinitrile (FMN), belongs to the group of cephalosporin antibiotics. It is a stereochemically pure compound that can be prepared in an efficient manner from commercially available materials. FMN has been shown to be effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The antibiotic uses a different mechanism of action than other cephalosporins, which are active only against Gram-positive bacteria. FMN inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the enzyme ribosome, thereby inhibiting peptide bond formation during protein synthesis. This antibiotic also binds to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA and prevent transcription and replication. FMN is also active against methicillin resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
