3-(4-fluorophenyl)-1-phenyl-2-propen-1-one is an epoxide that belongs to the class of epoxides. It has been shown to be cytotoxic and genotoxic in vitro against rat neutrophils, hamster V79 cells, and bacterial strain. 3-(4-fluorophenyl)-1-phenyl-2-propen-1-one has also been shown to cause genotoxic effects in vivo when administered at high doses. This drug also inhibits the activity of hydrolase, which is a class of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of epoxides. This inhibition leads to increased levels of free radicals, such as reactive oxygen species (ROS), and may result in DNA damage.
