Description

(±)-7-[[(4-Fluorophenyl)Methyl]Amino]-8-Methylnonan-1-Oic Acid is a potent antagonist of chemokine receptors. This compound binds to the chemokine receptor CXCR2, which is expressed on both the cell surface and in the intracellular space. It does not bind to any other known chemokine receptors. The binding of (±)-7-[[(4-Fluorophenyl)Methyl]Amino]-8-Methylnonan-1-Oic Acid to CXCR2 prevents the activation of downstream signalling pathways and inhibits inflammation. Chemokines are cytokines that are released by cells in response to infection and tissue injury and attract immune cells to sites of infection or injury. Chemokines also play an important role in autoimmune diseases, cancer, iontophoresis, conditioning agents for pharmaceutical preparations, and pharmaceutical preparations.
