H-Gln-AMC hydrobromide salt is a protease inhibitor that prevents the breakdown of proteins by inhibiting the activity of proteases. It binds to the active site of glutaminyl cyclase and prevents formation of the enzyme complex with chloride ion, which is necessary for catalysis to take place.
