Description :
2-(b-Glucosyl)glycerol is a stereochemical compound that is derived from glycerol. It has been found in the leaves of plants and fungi. The nmr spectra of 2-(b-glucosyl)glycerol are diastereoisomeric due to the different arrangements of the stereochemistry at C2 and C3. 2-(b-Glucosyl)glycerol is stable in an electrolyte solution, but can be biotransformed into trehalose, which is a stabilised sugar molecule.
