Description

Gold (III) bromide is a chemical compound of gold and bromine. It is a yellow solid that has a melting point of 810 °C. Gold (III) bromide is used as a reagent in organic chemistry, specifically for the synthesis of benzofuran derivatives. It can also be used to synthesize methyl glycosides and amines, which are important in cell growth and metabolism. Gold (III) bromide reacts with nucleophiles such as nitrogen nucleophiles to form an intermediate complex that can react with other nucleophiles or electrophiles to create new compounds.
