Description

Deltoidin is a sesquiterpene lactone that inhibits bacterial growth. It has been shown to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria. Deltoidin is also used as a treatment for necrosis, which may be due to its ability to induce the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in human neutrophils. The chemical reactions of deltoidin have been studied extensively, including its degradation by potassium ions and analytical methods. Deltoidin can be metabolized into diterpenes through chemical reactions, such as hydrolysis or oxidation.
