Description

Guanine hydrochloride hydrate is a guanine-based nucleoside analogue that inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA. It has been used in the treatment of leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. Guanine hydrochloride hydrate binds to the enzyme thioguanine synthase, which converts guanine into thioguanine, thereby preventing its conversion into other nucleotide analogues.
