• Description: R-N-Glycidylphthalimide is an enantioselective chiral reagent that is used to produce optically pure alcohols. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity in a number of carboxylic acid derivatives. R-N-Glycidylphthalimide was shown to be a good solvating agent, with the ability to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules and hydroxyl groups on proteins. R-N-Glycidylphthalimide is also useful for the synthesis of chiral amines, including ethylamine and amino acids, which are important in the pharmaceutical industry.
