Ginkgetin has also been shown to reduce reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and increase mitochondrial membrane potential, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the Toll-Like Receptor 4 (TLR4). Ginkgetin also has a potent antibacterial activity, which is likely due to its ability to inhibit bacterial dna gyrase and topoisomerase IV.
