6-Hydroxynicotinaldehyde is a ligand that binds to the vanilloid receptor 1 (TRPV1). It is an oxygenated analog of nicotinic acid, which was shown to have affinity for this receptor. 6-Hydroxynicotinaldehyde has been shown to be a potential TRPV1 ligand in human brain uptake assays. This compound has also been optimized as a potent and selective TRPV1 antagonist for pharmacological research and potential therapeutic applications.
