Description

Beta-Hydroxyisovaleric acid is a supplement that can be used to prevent or treat muscle loss. It is a by-product of protein metabolism and functions as an intermediate in the citric acid cycle. Beta-Hydroxyisovaleric acid can be found in foods such as red meat, cheese, milk, or eggs. It has been shown to increase redox potential and decrease protein oxidation. Beta-Hydroxyisovaleric acid supplementation has also been shown to increase endurance during prolonged exercise in humans. This product is soluble in water and should not be taken with any other medications without consulting a physician first.
