3-Hydrazinylbenzonitrile is a unsymmetrical molecule with three chiral centers. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against mammalian cells, and is selective for kinases in that it only inhibits the growth of cancer cells and not healthy ones. 3-Hydrazinylbenzonitrile can be modified through a linker to increase its stability and oral bioavailability, which may be useful for the treatment of cancers such as pancreatic or prostate cancer.
