Description

2-Hydrazinyl-6-methylpyridine is a potent inhibitor of the type 1 receptor for growth factor β1. It has been shown to inhibit the binding of growth factor β1 to its receptor, as well as its activation of downstream signaling pathways, such as phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase and mitogen-activated protein kinases. This drug also inhibits the activity of various kinases, such as Raf and c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK). 2-Hydrazinyl-6-methylpyridine has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of luciferase in vitro and in vivo. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit tyrosine kinases that are associated with cancer cell proliferation.
