Description

Heliotrine N-oxide is an analytical method that can be used to prepare urine samples for the detection of retrorsine, retronecine esters and rinderine N-oxide. The uptake of these compounds in human liver cells has been demonstrated using a cell culture model. In vitro experiments have also shown that heliotrine N-oxide interacts with chemical substances such as n-oxides, which are found in plants. These interactions have been related to biological properties, such as the antimalarial and cytotoxic properties of heliotrine N-oxide.
