Description :
5-Hexenoic acid is a fatty acid ester that is synthesized by the condensation of an acrylonitrile with 5-hexen-1-ol. The reaction of 5-hexenoic acid with sulfonic acids yields tiglic acid, which has been investigated for its inhibitory effect on some types of cancer cells.
