Description :1-Hydroxycyclopentyl)phenylacetic acid is a monocarboxylic acid with a carboxylic acid group. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of protein synthesis by binding to the ribosomes, preventing the formation of peptide bonds. 1-Hydroxycyclopentyl)phenylacetic acid also inhibits the growth of bacteria that are resistant to penicillin and erythromycin, such as Mycobacterium avium complex.
