Description

Rac-4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylethylene glycol is a metabolite of dopamine. It is used to study the effects of dopamine on the renal and hepatic systems, which can be determined by measuring the glomerular filtration rate and gamma-aminobutyric acid levels. Rac-4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylethylene glycol has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes that are involved in the synthesis of glucocorticoids. Rac-4-Hydroxy-3-methoxyphenylethylene glycol also inhibits 2 adrenergic receptors in rat brain tissue, which may lead to increased disease activity.
