• Description: 2'-Hydroxy-2-phenylacetophenone is an arylated isoflavone. It can be synthesized by the Friedel-Crafts reaction between 2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde and 2,3-dimethoxybenzoyl chloride. The mechanism of this reaction has been studied in detail. Phenols are reacted with methoxy or hydroxyl groups to form halogeno and amines. These products are then transformed into phenyllead and fluorescence.
