Description

4-Hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyquinoline is the chemical compound that is the product of a malonate reaction. It is a high yield and environmentally friendly chemical with a sequence that has been shown to be an antineoplastic agent. This compound is also hypotensive, which may be due to its ability to inhibit monoamine oxidase, thereby reducing blood pressure. 4-Hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyquinoline can be chlorinated in order to produce veratrole for use in the production of dyes and other chemicals.
