Tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)cyclopentadienyl ruthenium (II) is a chemical compound with the formula C(CH) =CFCPtCl. It is a red-brown powder that is soluble in organic solvents. The compound has been used as a catalyst for butanol dehydrogenation, and has potential applications as an electrochemical hydrogen storage material. Tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)cyclopentadienyl ruthenium (II) has been shown to be effective in catalyzing transfer reactions, such as dehydrogenation of alkynes to alkenes and oxidation of primary alcohols to carboxylic acids.
