1H,1H,9H-Hexadecafluoro-1-nonanol is a perfluorinated monomer that is used as a sealant in applications such as food packaging. It can be synthesized from 1,5-hexadiene and hydrogen fluoride. The efficiency of the synthesis process was evaluated by molecular descriptors and statistical analysis. This data was then analyzed using an algorithm to predict the efficiencies of the process. The calculated efficiencies were compared with experimental values obtained using endpoints and morphologies of the product to verify its accuracy. The functional groups present on this molecule are hydroxyls, nitrogens, carbonyls, carboxyls, amines and ethers. 1H,1H,9H-hexadecafluoro-1 nonanol is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and chloroform. Sodium salts are used as synergizing agents for this compound.
