Description

(E)-10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic acid is a fatty acid that belongs to the group of endogenous metabolites. It can be found in low doses in human cells, as well as in the blood and urine of healthy people. The biological properties of (E)-10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid are not well understood, but it has been shown to have antioxidative properties and inhibit the production of malonic acid from succinate. This compound also inhibits the expression of a gene called response element and trans-10-hydroxy-2-decenoic acid, which may contribute to its antiinflammatory effects.
