• Description: 3-(3-Hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)propionic acid is a dihydrochalcone that is found in lettuce. It can be used as an aglycone or with one or more sugar molecules to form glycosides, which are found in many plants. 3-(3-Hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)propionic acid has been shown to have a low bioavailability and to inhibit the activity of bile acids. 3-(3-Hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)propionic acid can be found in wastewater treatment systems, where it may act as an ecosystem pollutant.
