Description

2'-Hydroxy-3-methoxychalcone is a flavone that belongs to the class of methoxyflavones. It has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of lipid peroxidation in vitro, and has also been found to have a synergistic effect with 6-methoxyflavone. 2'-Hydroxy-3-methoxychalcone can be synthesized by adding hydrogen peroxide to 3,5,7-trihydroxyflavone, which is then followed by treatment with sulfuric acid. This compound has not been evaluated for any other biological activities.
