Description

8-Hydroxy-7-methoxyflavone is an antidiabetic drug that has been shown to have biochemical properties. It has been found to be effective in chronic oral administration and radiation treatment. It has been shown to decrease the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the formation of hydrogen bond interactions with DNA. 8-Hydroxy-7-methoxyflavone also has the ability to protect neurons from oxidative stress in cell culture experiments. This molecule may have a role in cancer prevention and treatment through its acetylation profile.
