Description

4-Hydroxynonafluoroazobenzene is a chromophore that is derived from the reaction of demethylation and spontaneous reactions. It belongs to the group of azobenzenes, which are characterized by having a skeleton containing two fused benzene rings. This compound has been shown to have an uptake in cells, as well as binding to fatty acid hydroxylase and inhibiting its activity. 4-Hydroxynonafluoroazobenzene has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells by targeting enzymes in the cell membrane such as fatty acid hydroxylase.
