Description :
1,1,1,3,4,4,4-Heptafluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)-2-butanone is a complex molecule that is basically an experimental ketone. It has been shown to have catalytic activity in the synthesis of fluoroketones from carbonyls and perfluorinated compounds. This compound also can be used for bond cleavage reactions involving transition metal compounds. The UV absorption maxima for 1,1,1,3,4,4,4-heptafluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)-2-butanone are at 232 and 280 nm.
