Description :
1-Iodohexane is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and viruses. 1-Iodohexane binds to the hydroxyl group of a number of biological molecules and inhibits the synthesis of messenger RNA (mRNA). This leads to decreased protein production and reduced cell division in bacteria. The mechanism of action for 1-Iodohexane is not well understood, but it is believed that this chemical may be effective against antibiotic resistant bacteria due to its low energy state.
