Isoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid is an anti-pcsk9 antibody that binds to the receptor and inhibits its activity. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the PCSK9 enzyme, which is required for the production of LDL receptors on liver cells. Isoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid has been shown to have anti-cancer properties and also shows potential for treating inflammatory bowel disease. This molecule is able to inhibit growth factors and inflammatory cytokines by binding to their receptors, which may be due to its coordination geometry. It also acts as a chelate ligand, binding metal ions such as iron or copper that are required for various cellular processes including DNA synthesis.
